gypsysnail's Profile Picture
Artist | Professional | Traditional Art
I'm a visual artist predominately working with watercolour illustration. I illustrate things such as abandoned and old places, old things/antiques, dogs, vdubs/volkys in human situations having fun or getting themselves in a pickle, places, anything that I or others feel connected to. Sometimes I create pieces for tarot cards and other projects. I am in the midst of creating my first art book titled Roam the Blue Ghost - which is about my watercolour works on old and abandoned places with ghosts. The ghosts are a big part of the artworks as they tell the story of each place. I'm told that I'm a good story teller through my artworks.

I accept commissions of anything that you want - may it be something or a place you love, even a combination of many things you love all illustrated on one large piece, your pets, yourselves, your loved ones, or simply your dreams!

Message me if you would like to request a commission. I don't take requests only commissions. Each commission price depends on the size of the artwork - usually this ranges from 8 x 10 inches to 23 x 33 inches or even bigger on request.

Me and Baby Moon Self Portrait by gypsysnail
Me and Baby Moon Self Portrait
Me and the moon when the moon was a baby. There was a huge storm raging outside and baby moon had woken in fright and risen from its cot and illuminated brightly to dim the light from the lightning - much like a baby crying. So I had to get up and nurse the baby moon back to sleep.

Walking the Tower of Babel by gypsysnail
Walking the Tower of Babel
Part of the Wait of the World collection, Babel Tower is a popular piece that has already sold (and yes prints are available from my website (through contact page at the moment until shopfy is installed), particularly limited edition embellished with the gold leaf included, on fine art rag paper), babel tower encompasses all that is about rich and powerful fools who think they are God or that they have the right to reach out to God at the top. The everyday people like Snail, the alien, dogs, cats, the humble robed man and the boat workers stand at the bottom spectating and shaking their heads as they go about their business while the rich powerful fools (recognise some of them?) walk up the tower and as they do, the archangels Nick and Mick come down to tell them off!

Woodville House South Australia by gypsysnail
Woodville House South Australia
In woodville, another historical area of South Australia that is popular and prestige, this house sits in the afternoon sunlight, basking in the rays and mid afternoon shadows surround the area. Almost a nostalgia of past mid-afternoons.

I was working on a tarot card, Five of Cups card as part of a deck collaborated by 77 other artists, and the project is called 78 Tarot. You can see my card at this link Five of Cups Tarot card (don't mind the watermark all over the card as this is only to protect copyrights of my work from theft, the actual card doesn't have the watermark)

Now all the artists have finished their card illustrations/paintings, we are all now live on Kickstarter and my card is in the deck. You can check out the deck and maybe buy a deck by pledging at the $45 (early bird) level or the $60 level that includes extra rewards in the package. I think after the kickstarter campaign ends, the cards would be available for sale through the 78 tarot website hopefully. Come support the project at this link…
